“Love it or leave it” is definitively the last album of Rise and Fall of a Decade. Reunited in 2006, the band’s new creative effort was soon brought to an end by the sudden death of singer Pierre Francois Maurin-Malet in May 2007. All lyrics had been recorded before and composer Thierry Sintoni did an emotionally disturbing job in finishing the yet incomplete songs. This process resulted in an album that presents us a grown and genius band that was no longer bound to any genre limitations and even processed influences of the side-project Cube like People.

Especially the ballad “In the time when”, a collaboration with guest singer Carla Picchiantano and Pierre Francois, proves that Rise and Fall of a Decade still belong to the most important bands of that genre. As special bonus, the album comes up with an additional CD called “A missing friend tribute” – full of mixes and cover versions done by bands like Collection D’Arnell-Andrea, Speaking Silence, Hide and Seek, Nemo Sandman, O Quam Tristis. And now, after 20 years – after two decades – the journey has come to an end and we say goodbye to one of the greatest bands – and great people… Merci!

July 89: creation of “UNITY MITFORD STUDIO” September 1989 recording of 3 titles for the “Unreleased Vol III”
June 90: record deal with the label LIVELY ART (NEW ROSE)
December 90: release of the 1st album Image
May 91: sign to SINGLE KO (VIRGIN Distribution), recording of a black session for BERNARD LENOIR
August 91: issue of the CD single “Some evenings with Bernard” from the Black Session
February 92: production of the 1st CD Single from Planete Zen
March 92: production of the 1st LP from Planete Zen
April 92: release of the 2nd LP “Noisy but empty”
Sept 92 – Mar 93: concerts (Colmar, Strasbourg, Nancy, St Malo, Paris) with BEL CANTO, DOMINIQUE A., MOOSE, HIGH LLAMAS
August 93: record deal with the German label Hyperium/Hypnobeat (worldwide distribution)
Febr – Mar 93: concerts in Germany (Hamburg with MARC BURGESS / Ex-CHAMELEONS)
May 94: release of the 3rd LP “You or Sidney” with license to SEMANTIC
July 94 – June 95: concerts in Paris (Arapaho-Passage du Nord Ouest), St Malo (”La route du Rock” with ELECTRAFXION,COMPULSION,J-L MURAT), Rennes (UBU avec MARC SEBERG) and Leipzig (Allemagne)
April 95: release of the 4th LP “UBU REINE” (live album)
Sept 95: re-release of the 1st LP on Hyperium/Hypnobeat
97: release of the 5th album “Forget the 20th century”
98: after 10 years of music under the name Rise and Fall of a Decade,Pierre-François, Sandy and Thierry decieded to start a new project called Cube-Like-People
05/06: RISE AND FALL OF A DECADE starts again, first recordings of new songs
January 07: record deal with the German label Ars Musica Diffundere/Black Rain
April 07:Intuition records released the compilation “Yesterday Today and Tomorow” with 23 titles including versions ,covers (pixies,gainsbourg)and a new title…
First of May 2007: Pierre-François MAURIN-MALET, singer and text writer of the band, died in the age of 41
May 07: the two classics “Noisy but Empty” and “You or Sidney” were re-released, interviews with Thierry SINTONI, the composer of the band, at the German Zillo and Orkus magazine, the new website is finished
August 07 : Sandy Casado and Thierry Sintoni are working on the last album of Rise and Fall of a Decade. Ten to twelve titles are mixed and produced in the Unity Mitford Studio…
Sept 07: already 10 titles mixed , 2 more titles and the album is over. One of these two titles is extract from the soundtrack of a french movie called “Plus loin encore”directed by Stephane Derderian. Rafoad wrote 10 original musical themes for this movie in 2006.
Jan 08: rafoad just finished their last album…”In the time when” is one of the new album songs.Carla Picchiantano (Singer from Speaking Silence)wrote the lyrics and sings virtually with Pierre François on this Rafoad song. The album is not scheduled yet…Sandy and Thierry have first to re release the “first album “and “Forget the 20th Century”.Then the last album will come with a surprise…
12 Sept 08: re-release of the 1990″First album” and”Forget the 20th Century” by the Label “Black Rain”.
End of October 08 , New 2 cd album called “Love it or Leave it” including a 12 titles Tribute to Pierre François Maurin-Malet.
The new video of Rise and Fall of a Decade, produced by Nemo Sandman,is on line ,.The song “Don’t save the museum” is a cover (from Nemo Sandman )and appears on the “Missing Friend Tribute”
